      Hi Sophie!

Yesss, Asia! I absolutely love Thailand but I’ve been to a few other countries in the region (and planning to do more next year!) and in general I just love Asia. I was expecting Thailand to be quite dirty and seedy and to be honest a bit scary! But while Bangkok is hectic the country as a whole is amazing! We took an overnight train to a place called Chang Mai in the north and that was awesome, it’s built around an old walled city and loads of temples and mountains and stuff. I actually proposed at the elephant sanctuary there in the middle of the rainforest! Awww … 🙂 And we did a few of the islands too, my favourite is Koh Phi Phi (it’s where some scenes from ‘The Beach’ with Leo DiCaprio were filmed). There are no roads or cars on the island and you can walk from one end to the other in about 20 minutes!

I’d advise anyone to travel, not just to asia but anywhere, I think it’s important to see a bit of the world outside of your little bubble at home, and I think you dont get to see enough of somewhere from a regular beach package holiday! My sister-in-law travelled around Australia for a year and loved it, and I’d love to do South America one day! It gets trickier once you’re all grown up though so I’d go while you’re young with no commitments!

I could talk about travelling all day, you’re making me miss it now! ha
