Science is what helps the world move forwards. If we were okay with saying “I don’t know” to everything, we wouldn’t have all the technology, machines, and knowledge we have today!

Science always needs scientists, so we learn as much science as we can to keep educated, and then those who choose to be scientists can add to that body of knowledge and keep the world moving forwards!

Like Issac Newton famously said, we are “Standing on the shoulders of giants”

Science is our understanding of how the world works. We learn it so that everyone knows a bit about how things work. Scientists then take a specific part of that, and learn it really in depth, and research it to find out more!

You have to learn science at school for a few reasons. To understand how things work, how the body works, how space works, and because it is interesting! Also, to learn how to experiment on something, how to be critical about something you have done, and how to write about it.

Without science, we would also not have any drugs, or cures for disease, so would live a very short amount of time, like in the 1600s!
