      Hi Cornish pasty,

      You’re right, the whole point of this work is to progress towards a cure for brain diseases like Parkinson’s and Huntington’s. At the moment, all we can do is deal with the symptoms of the disease, which does make life easier for the patients but doesn’t deal with the disease itself.

      Prevention is always better than cure, as then you don’t have to deal with the disease itself. Finding a way to prevent brain diseases would be amazing, and there is some evidence that a healthy lifestyle and exercise can help prevent these kind of diseases, but nothing is 100%. Right now, the best focus is on curing people who are suffering from the disease, and once we understand more we can move towards a prevention so nobody has to suffer again in the future.
