Question: Is it true that your nails are made of the same thing as your hair ?
Asked by Ellie glover to Kylie, Matt, RobB on 23 Jun 2016.
answered on 23 Jun 2016:
That’s right, it’s a protein called keratin 😀 Keratin comes in different forms (alpha and beta), our hair and nails contain alpha-keratin, and so does the outer layer of our skin! Structural proteins like keratin are very useful 😀

Yep, hair and nails are both made of a tough protein called keratin! It’s also present in your body in other forms in places like the roof of your mouth!
