      Hi all,

My work is on Parkinson’s and Huntington’s, so it will mostly affect people diagnosed with these conditions, as treatments, cures and prevention would greatly increase the quality of their life, because these diseases have a huge affect on their lives. The friends and family who care for these patients would also be affected if more efficient treatments can be found, and as a larger whole the medical industry and the NHS would be affected if Parkinson’s and Huntington’s became less severe.

      Good question,
My work will affect people with asthma and emphysema, as one day we will hopefully find some new treats, and if not a cure for their disease. This will improve their quality of life, and hopefully give them longer to live.

We are also researching e-cigarettes, which are new and cool, but we don’t really know what they do to the lungs or the body yet. We are trying to find out, and depending on what we find, we can influence to government to either make them available to everyone so they can stop smoking, or change the rules on them so they can be safer.
