Some experiments take a very long time, but involve very simple tasks, so I usually listen to music or watch some YouTube at these times! I don’t think I could get through an entire film as I like to watch them all in one go, but sometimes in the lab work I get a 2 hour break where I could watch something, but I usually go to eat instead 😀

Quite often! When I’m processing data on a computer, I often have a couple of different screens out with BBC iplayer or a film on one screen. This also means I have my headphones in, so people in the office talk to me less so I focus more on what I’m doing, so really watching TV and films while working is productive 🙂

Yes, sometimes. I normally listen to music in the lab, either on my headphones or we have the radio on. Dancing while experimenting makes the day much more fun!

If i am doing data analysis, so looking at lots of numbers in an excel spread sheet, I sometimes have a film of TV on in the background. It makes the job less monotonous! I can’t do this while writing, I have to play music with no singing so I can concentrate!

Nooo, if I’m not doing clinical duties then I’m at my desk doing project work, and I share an office with 4 others and it’s right next to the boss’!

If I need to zone out a bit and crack on with writing something I’ll stick some music on and put my headphones in, people know not to talk to me then! 🙂
